O__O Wow! This picture has gone a LONg way the last time I've seen it! OH my! I lovethe way you have the mouse shadow in the foreground, VERY clever! The spider webs do look spiffier than perfect ones..it kind of adds to the imperectness and stitching up in the picture. Oh, and his legs looks waaaay too small (mainly the thighs) The heels should be connected to his leg..but that could be part of his character design. I think him with very small ears adds to his characters, and makes him more original. Could just be me though. Nicely done, Toby! I deserve a cookie..er..fish.. FISH COOKIE! X3
Aww, thanks ^-^ Hmm, the heels not quite connected to his leg? Wouuuld you mind if you sent me a redline or such where it looks odd, since I definitely would like to change it? ;3 Hehe, you deserve plenty of cookies ^-^ Right now I only have cupcakes, frappuccinos and m&ms around though, soooo that's all I can offer for now? ;3 (even though I plan to go to the mall the next days again, sooo yup, cookies for you ;P )
Oh sure! Here's what I mean: [Link]Sorry that I chopped up the quality by making it JPG. ^^; I hope you can see the red lines. YAY! Mall bought cookies! <3
Hehe, yup, I can see the red lines for sure, none of them are exactly easy to miss *giggles* I changed it a little to what you showed me, do you think it's better now, or would you prefer the old one? Oh, and your two characters there look crazy (guess it's toby and lolly?) ;P
hehe, I guess not, but just in case..they did blur alot when I saved it in JPG. ^^; Oh! when I came back to the picture, I instantly noticed that it looked different, didn't know what it way though, until you pointed it out. The legs look alot better (in my opinion) Yeah..I was just messing around, and decided to add in a few giggles and what not to the picture. X3 tee hee! And those are Toby and Lolly, you genious ;P
Yup, I know what you mean .. that's quite a disadvantage of JPEG. Usually though, if you choose a high enough quality and tweak a bit with the settings, you get pretty decent looking pictures .. aaand you could always choose PNG for the best effect ^-^ But anyhow, it worked very well for the purpose, and since you said you like the legs better the way they're now, I think I'll juuust leave them this way ;) Hehe, I figured .. thouuuugh they look a biiit odd with them both giggling and Jackie being sad, but you're right, I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw it ;3
Oh yeah! I remembered that OC has this JPG quality ticker where you can tell it how much quality you want still in the picture. X3 heh, I just did JPG becasue I was kindain a rush, but hoped it would work..which it did. ;3 Oh, and toby? I think it would be great as a print. One of these days, I'll buy something from you and savor it on my bedroom wall. :D Oh..and I just noticed.. O_O; In my first comment, I meant to say "Nicely done Toby! you deserve a cookie!", not meeeeee..why would I deserve a cookie? XD

Another picture from Toby, hurrah! As always, it's wunderful. <3 Critique? Just a few, not really important. The hand from the right of a persons veiw doesn't have fingers, as the other. I guess that's all, 'cept the light around the candle could be brighter, but all in all, it's not really important. I can't wait to see his biography. He certainly seems like an interesting personage. ;D
wunderful? *giggles* sounds like a mixture of German and English, since we'd say wundervoll .. pretty similar, no? X3 Anyhow, thanks for your critique .. I don't really want to make it too bright, maybe a bit brighter would make an interesting effect, I'll keep that in mind for the next drawing ^-^ Oh, and you're right about the fingers, they were all faint and not really drawn out, soooo I changed them a little, it is better now? ^-^ Take care, and thank you again <3 Tobias
Aye. But it's just me playing with styles, as usual. ^___^ Aye, aye, can see them as clear as daylight. And it really is no problem. I do it out of sheer pleasure. <3 Kri hugs.
Aww. And I thought you'd start speaking German with me now ;3 Hehe, yay ^-^ Glad they look better now, and thanks again for all your help ^-^ Kri? ;3
Awr, I would try, but then you wouldn't understand. XD Not a problem. It wasn't really much, really. ;D Neopets persona. Couldn't say Phiyrr cause my lenny already had the name and I RPed with it. >-< Toby has neopets accoung? :O
Aww, too bad ;) Even though I can imagine it would sound fun, hearing you in German ^^ Phew, good to hear .. still, it was looking odd, aaand I prefer the way it is now ;3 Oooh, I see ^-^ Hehe, you sure have creative names for your pets ^^ Yush yush, he has ^-^ Buuuut he's barely on it anymore ^^;
He, I could try, and I might start taking lessons in German language in high school, so maybe in three years. Then I could understand what you're saying, not that I don't. >:D Aye. <3 Eh, not really. I just bang my head on my keyboard and see what comes out. It's really funny some times, the names I get. But thanks. XD Awr. I would of gone to visit and all. D;

wow, that is just stunning! I love your use of light, its always amazing! The textures are great, i love the sketchy spider webs and how vivid that red string is! THe little mouse sillouette is great too it just adds so much depth to the image! Its truely wonderful :)
Thank you ^-^ Hehe, actually the mouse I pretty much drew last, since everything looked so empty without anything down there ;3 And use of light is still something I definitely need to practice on, but glad you think I'm doing well on it, it means a lot to me =^-^= Take care <3 Tobias
mmm, very nicely done ^^ I like the way you did the upper background a lot. The sketch spiderwebs really add to an "messy, old and dusty attic" feeling with the candle being the centre of the image. I wonder how many noticed the funny lil mouse you drew lower of the long string as the image centre kinda makes you overlook it but it's a great addition :) Very sweet and very touching. It has both a sad and sweet feeling to it. With the falling flowerleaves and the patching of the stuffed heart yet the warmth of the overall light off the cendle makes it more gentle. Ooh, and on the more light comment, I think the light is just right or it might been a bit of an overkill. Some images do look good with overlighting to give it an more powerfull message but i think this image doesn't need the addition of that feature or it might lose underlying feelings.

Hehe, I stopped by on your page and replied to this, buuut I would just like to thank you for your detailed and sweet comment here as well - it has just the right length, and gives me an excellent idea what you felt when looking at the drawing (and most importantly what made you feel like that), which is, alas, a rarity to receive nowadays ^-^' Tobias ^^
Cool! I'm actually pretty glad that you have a bat character- and a mute one at that. Nice to see you're still drawing stuff, ol' buddy!
Hehe, thanks ^-^ And same goes too you, it's always a nice surprise to see someone around after so much time has passed .. guess it's around two and a half years? Time really flies ^^; Oh, and well done on your website, you have quite a couple of cute ideas there, aaaas I said on your page already ;3 Anyhow, thanks for your comment, and take good care of yourself ^-^ Tobias
It's very cute but at the same time he looks kinda sad esp when he is stiching together a broken heart. =3 Good job hun. ^_^
Thank you ^-^ (actually it's supposed to be a little sad .. look, he's even using a thicker yarn than the last time ^^; ) Take care, Tobias
Toby this is wonderful! I love the little candle light and the tiny curliez at the end of the string <3 And of course the little heart with the stuffing coming out is just.. Awsome
Thank you, Dana ^-^ It means a lot, coming from you <3
This is easily one of the best works of art I've seen from somebody I know.
Hey Toby, it has been a while since I last commented on something of yours. I've been having some troubles with my computer but I managed to fix it thank fully. On the picture, it is very marvelous ^^ I like it! I especially like the webs, looks more intircate than having straight webs. It looks like there is two endpoints at the top right or would that be some vignetting? All-in-all though, I really like it. Especially the colors and the lighting ^^ Splendid job Toby =3!
Hmmmm .. actually I don't think there are supposed to be two endpoints, buuut I have to admit, you're right that I darkened it towards the top, so it could be a vignetting effect too ;P And I admit it kind of stops in the middle of two strings of the spiderweb, so this might increase the impression of having two endpoints ^^ I'm glad you like the drawing though, and thanks for your nice comment and critique - they're appreciated a lot, that's for sure ^-^

I really love bat characters. I have a bat character in the making (for like 3 years. XD) 'cept mine isn't cute and cartoony like yours. I really enjoy your cobwebs, and like you said, I think when they are loose they look much better than the cartoon style where it's stiff looking and swirly. Awesome work and I hope to see more work out of you later. :)
Hiya, Thank you very much for your nice words ^-^ Three years? Not as cute and cartoony? Sooo .. you're going for realism? I'm sure it would look all cute anyway, bats look adorable at least from what I've seen them - Carinthia doesn't have too many bats though, alas ^^; Hehe, you forgot to mention your name, maaaybe you could drop me a note or such, so I know? I'd love to, in any case ;3 Tobias
Wow this is incredible. I love how sweet the character looks. SO innocent yet still he has to mend that heart. Such lovely detail, the warm glow from the candle, the flower dropping it's petals, cobwebs. There is just so much to take in. Wonderful work. I hope you do make this one a print. it's great.
Thank you ^-^ Hehe, I'd be pleased to make the drawing a print for you, would you prefer the version you see here, or rather the slightly more blurry one? Take care, Tobias
Awwww, that is so darn cute... And he looks all sad too. ;__; -hugs him- I love how painterly it is, and the way you've done the water in the jug to look all translucent but not sacrifice and of the paint-ish look. That candlr is really pretty too. ^^ Those cobwebs make me hungry for cotton candy, seriously. xD They're lovely, and I wanna steal that hourglass!! You put so much detail into all of your art, if I were to try and say how much I love it all I'd be practically writing an essay. ^^; I love the sweet sorta sadness behing this, it looks so cute, yet makes me wanna cry too... Absolutely stunning Toby, keep up the great work!! :D
Hiya Kazzi, Thanks for your sweet comment - the same goes for your art though, everything's really cute when I look at your gallery ^-^ Hehe, you get hungry for cotton candy, when seeing cobwebs? I usually just watch them from a safe distance, since I think they feel all icky when I run into them ^^; (besides, I thiiiink I still remember that one shouldn't feed Kazzi too much sugar and such, oooor am I mistaken? <.< ) In any case, I'm glad you like the drawing (hopefully it didn't actually make you cry ^^; ), and once again thanks for sharing your thoughts - it's appreciated for sure ^-^

Wow, Tobias, this is a really cute pic! There's plenty of nice hidden details to show off as well, like the mouse in the bottom right. :) The small amount of light and web all over the place really give off a lonely feeling. I wonder what Jackie's doing in such a place? The wooden floor looks pretty cool too, and I like how you tried to add some sort of detail to each object, including that piece of paper behind the glass, and the very small dust falling from the flower. ^_^ Again, you did a fantastic job on this pic.
Thank you for your detailed comment ^-^ Hehe, yup, he's supposed to be on an old, dark and dusty attic, and I tried to make it look lonely and forgotten, soooo I'd say, well spotted ^-^ No idea how he got there though, only Jackie does .. maybe he needs a place where he can stitch everything together again and think about everything that happened? ^^; Once again, thanks for your nice words, it means a lot to me <3 Tobias
oh wow, that is soo adorable!! you have a knack for creating adorable lil characters - i love it!! i love the darkness and deciding to do the spiderwebs like you have was certainly a great way to go. he has very cute lil hands too - i can't wait to read his character description - does the stitchin of the heart symbolise that he's had his heart broken and is tryin to mend it?
Hiya Ange ^^ Hehe, thank you ^-^ And yup, you're close - I'll note you with my interpretation of the picture, siiiince I don't want to spoil it for everyone ;3 Tobias

I just adore the lighting here! It's so soft and christmassy, somehow~ Such a cute illustration, too! The composition, the colours... everything appeals to the eye. One thing that irks me a bit though, is that the little candle doesn't really seem to be standing on the floor, mre like floating about the ground a tiny bit. I'd suggest adding some shadows on the holder itself to make it look heavier. Overall, superb work! n_n
Hehe, yush yush, I can see what you mean, it does indeed look a little like as if it's floating a bit ;3 I'll try to change it, so it looks more connected to the floor, as soon as I have my tablet back ^-^ Thanks for your nice comment and critique, it's muchly appreciated ´n.n`

Absolutly beautiful. Very cute, and yet sad. Mending a broken heart! This looks like something straight out of a childrens book. You are very talented. :)
This is very sweet. I like the scribbly spiderwebs - they look very realistic.

Eek, how long did it take me to get to this (I don't really wish to know ;O;)? I've been so unactive... I really do appologize. @.@ But to firstly answer your question on DA I think plenty of DA'd love to buy some art from you! Oh the wonders, you can live rich and entire by age 21 (Just in time to partay!) Before I read through everything it looked like a Toby with feet, thinking he evolved into something new! :P But I see it and have read through now, I think Jackie's a lovely character and he brings out your style. :3 If you think a little thing like smaller ears is going to make him look far off from a bat, just look at Rouge the Bat or Sonic the Hedgehog... he's blue! X3 So I think you're on the right track with this one. :3 The only spider web I could see without OC was the one inside the book covers, across all the little pages. All the little details like that are splendid, yet again! X3 The mounds of cotton here and there, some obviously filled with cotton, some a little more fragile and less together (Just as cotton is!) The threads parting from wool (Or whichever sort of material he's using :3), seeming like split ends on a panicked adolescent! Bravo! Ooh, the little eyes and big head are definitely in season... so devious compared to big eyes and small heads that you see to and fro! And a little pink nose just make him that much more adorable. (: Ooh, and I'm sure I forgot to mention the sweet lil tuft you gave him... the curls were such a grand addition, capital idea! Who knows how many details I've missed... one day I'll see it all fully! Hopefully you're having a great time in PA, I wish you the best with that and the rest of your art! :3

Heh, you know, you don't need to worry about taking your time at all ;3 Really, it's not like you have to comment on every one of my drawings, you can just as well take breaks as well, I wouldn't mind a bit. Just look at them, enjoy them, and don't feel pushed to comment - I mean it ^^; I don't really plan to get rich of my drawings or anything, all the prints I have sold so far I either bought for friends or sold at the base price, sooo .. I have a grand total profit of zero dollars on about a dozen sales or such, hehe ;3 My style will technically be pretty much the same, just because I like it - so most of my characters will have a fuzzy hair-style and stuff .. aaaand I kind of like brown tones. So, in a way, that's as much variety as one'll get from my characters, eeeven though lately I actually started drawing Jackie with bigger ears ^^ Aaand your screen is definitely dark, considering you only saw spiderwebs on the book without brightening it in OC, buut I guess you know that ;3 and besides, darkness goes pretty well on this picture anyway. Glad you like it, in any case ^-^ My time in the US is a good one, right now I'm waiting for a few assignments and a test to be handed back .. we were at Six Flags too, and did a couple of excursions, soooo you can imagine it's quite fun ;3 Really .. you should try doing an exchange program thingy too ^-^
